Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Mark Tinsley as the new associate vice president of arts and sciences. Dr. Tinsley has served at CVCC for the past two years as an associate instructor of geology, following his position as a part-time adjunct instructor. His experience and dedication make him well-suited for his new role.
In addition to his teaching experience, Dr. Tinsley has an impressive academic background, holding thirteen different degrees and certificates, including degrees in science, arts, and law. He also serves as a Command Chaplain (Colonel) in the United States Army Reserve. His commitment to student success and his diverse educational qualifications have made him a highly respected figure within the college community.

Dr. Tinsley’s impressive educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University, three religion master’s degrees from Liberty University, a Master of Science degree from Emporia State University, a Master of Fine Arts degree from Drew University, a Juris Master from the Liberty University School of Law, and a Doctorate from Liberty University.
